Uggg....im turning into my worse fear-Help!

Anyone who knows me knows that I love dressing my best for whatever occassion...i was taught at a young age by my fashion savy mom that your outward appearance makes a difference. Lately, I think I would shame my mom, sorry mom. As much as I love getting pretty or feeling pretty~i almost feel I have lost the touch to do so. Anyone who has held our son knows why his nickname is "pukey Lukey." Ive almost said wearing my comfy-non attractive-puke proof clothes is a must for that reason. However, I think my husband can attest that my oregon shorts.and mismatched tshirt are not the most amazing look. Sadly i've turned into the fropy mom that I swore I never would, whats next-driving a mini van (no offense all you mini van drivers)?
So here is the question I post-how do you women not fall into the fropy mom lifestyle-espically with doing dishes and laundry everyday(and theres only 3 of us-not sure how you bigger families dont go crazy with always having to do dishes and laundry), having growing children that need bigger size clothes monthly which means not much extra money for moms appearance, and going to the grocery store is the highlight of your week.
I guess at least im not sitting watching soap opera and eating bon bons...hopefully I wont fall that deep in the fropiness.

  1. Hopefully he'll get over the puking soon! Then at least you can wear nicer clothes even if it's less often than before. I don't have any advice because I rarely ever get out my jammies these days! But I do have to say that my grandma had 12 kids and woke up at 4:30 every morning to have an hour to herself to shower, get dressed - in a dress - do her hair and makeup so she could look and feel wonderful all day despite all the craziness that came along with 12 children. So if she can do it, then so can we! The one thing that I do try to tell myself is that there is a time and season for everything. With a baby, the time and season is to keep yourself from going insane from beinging the lowest priority on your list. Hopefully when the babies move into toddlerhood then it will be a time and season to be a top priority in your own life, even if it does require getting up early in the morning to have some quiet moments to yourself and be able to get dressed and ready for the day like a "normal" person again. For right now, you should just try to get a date night each week if possible, and you can focus on dressing up for that one occasion. It might make a world of difference.

  2. People always think my hair is always done and my clothes are always ironed. Truth is...I'm only that way on Sundays and when I leave the house. :) pop by unexpected at noon and I'm still in my pjs.

  3. You always look cute when I see you! I love accessorizing even if it's with my casual "mom" t-shirts...I guess it makes me think I'm dressed up, yet still functional.

    Good luck with the puking..
